My Fellow Club Members,
I am pleased to report that our South Florida Region of
AACA, will be hosting a National Show in March, 4-7, 2010. Our
club has partnered with the Homestead-Miami Speedway to hold this meet
at their track. I can tell you that the physical plant offered to
us for the show is truly a first class facility, with adequate room for
many show cars, a flea market, banquet hall and office space. In
addition, Homestead Main Street will also be partnering with us in
support.
Since my presidency will be ending in December, I have
decided to fill the position of Meet Chairman for this event. AACA
has established National Meet
guidelines that we are required to follow. Because there are
important committees to be established, I have asked Past President, Ira
Shapiro to take charge of the operations portion for this show.
This includes the following committees: Registration, Chief Judge, Chief
Marshall, and Vendor/Flea Market Committee. On the administrative
side of the organization, First Vice President Greg Paiewonsky will be
in charge of the Fiscal, Banquet, Club Merchandise, Trophy, and
Publicity Committees.
You will be hearing much more in the
coming months concerning the details of this show. It is extremely
important for the success of this prestigious event that our club
members step up and volunteer to be a part of the committees noted
above. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and learn
what is involved in producing a national show. More important than
anything else, it will provide pride to all of our club members to say
that they contributed in making this show a success. When one of
the directors or committee chairmen approach you, do say yes to this
very rewarding experience.
We will be having AACA members from around the country
bringing their outstanding and unusual automobiles to this show.
With the venue now decided, it is our membership that will make a
favorable lasting impression for our visitors. Do not hesitate to
contact me directly or the directors noted above, should you have any
questions.
I am looking forward to seeing you at our next club meeting.
