It seems that one manufacturer is supplying replacement trunk mats for different makes of old cars. The product I am talking about is the checker or houndstooth design printed on a flannel backed material that slides all over the trunk when you go around a turn. I have found a product named Weatherwatch granular surfaced leak barrier made by GAF that does a great job of holding the mat in place. This product is a rubber type product, sticky on one side, granular surface on the other. Cut the Weatherwatch to shape of trunk, adhere the sticky side to the trunk floor and lay the replacement mat on granular surface. This product can be purchased from most roofing supply wholesalers (Best Distributing Co., 1306 Kirkland Rd., Raleigh, NC 832-2003) or I have a lot left over which I am willing to share.
