President's Message

Mary Mashburn, President |
|

T hank
you for allowing me to work for this awesome group -- the NC Region;
it’s an honor and a privilege. We have a busy and exciting year ahead of
us and I am looking forward to it! I also look forward to working with a
very dedicated group of Officers and Board members.
We started out
the new year with a brand new Annual Business Meeting. It was held in
Burlington at the Ramada Inn. I want to thank Randy Stone for formatting
the event much like Philadelphia with the National Judging School on
Friday and several seminars on Saturday. According to David Devine,
Randy did such a good job

Vice President's Message
|
|
| |
Randy Stone,
Vice President |
|
| |
As your new Vice President of the North Carolina
Region please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Randy Stone
and I am looking forward to an exciting year here in the Old North
State. I have been a member of the National AACA and the NC Region
off and on since 1979. Business concerns kept me from my hobby for
some of those years but that perseverance paid off as I am now
retired and looking forward to having some good old car fun.
Many of you know me from the Judging schools and
Mustang CJE classes I have taught over the years. I hope to continue
those classes and help the younger judges get acquainted with the
AACA judging system and America’s favorite car – The Mustang!

As you read through this newsletter, you will become aware
that the recent NC Region Business Meeting was well received by all who
attended. Randy Stone and his committee did an outstanding job putting it
together. I hope by reporting how everyone felt about it you will be encouraged
to attend next year if you were not among the participants. Don’t miss it in
2009!
Mike and I attended even though he did a great imitation of
Tim Conway (from Carol Burnett’s show) old man shuffle. He has since had surgery

Thanks to Randy Stone and
his committee for their hard work in
planning our 1st centralized Annual Business
Meeting. It’s been a long time in the works.
Speaking for myself and others I have talked
to, it was a success. The Judging School on
Friday was well attended with 41 members. Of
the 41 attending the school, nine were 1st
timers, who attended the Apprenticeship
School, so North Carolina now has nine more
new judges. I will pick up the new Judges
Manual at Philadelphia and send one to each
of the judges who attended the school.
Fran and I will be leaving
for Philadelphia on the 6th of February,
which will mean that the 2008 AACA season
begins. Our first National Meet will be a
dual meet at Melbourne Florida on March 7th
and 8th. The Grand National on Friday and
the National Meet on Saturday. April 4th and
5th will be the National Meet at Charlotte -
