  • Total US auto registration pass the 140,000 mark
  • US car production surpasses all Europe.
  • Selective transmissions are a major trend at the Seventh National Automobile Show
  • Cars at the show feature bigger brakes, bodies with up to 30 coats of paint, and more 6-cyclinder engines
  • Vanderbilt Motor Parkway, a private owned, limited access toll road, opens on Long Island New York. It introduces both concrete pavements and banked curves.
  • Irate at a $5 fare for a 15-block ride, New Yorker Harry Allen introduces 65 Darrarq taxicabs in New York City.
