The Illinois Region proudly presents the 2004 Central Divisional Tour
Chuck Mecele called us to express his interest six months before the Tour and 2 or 3 times after that to make sure everything was O K. He was looking forward to this Tour and now that it's over has written a great accounting of the 2004 Central Divisional Tour. Thank you Chuck.
Charles Micele and Miss Winnie 1965 Ford Mustang Some pictures of the three day Tour with Chuck and Miss Winnie.
David and Brenda Zimmerman 1935 Ford As Executive Vice-President, Dave reassured us in his Banquet speech, that National is there to back us up. Dave and Brenda came all the way from New Jersey to be on this Tour!! They had some wonderful stories to tell that we heard in the Hospitality Room and the Tour along the way. The Illinois Region would like to thank Dave and Brenda for helping and supporting us on our first National Central Divisional Tour.
Mel and Joan Guenther 1933 La Salle 2-Door Mel was nice enough to send a picture of his gorgeous '33 LaSalle which didn't make the Tour due to a major problem. Laura thought at first that their car might be a 1978 Jaguar?? But then no. We're glad they could make the tour in their modern car.
Tom and Joanna Cooper 1948 Chevrolet 2-Door Fleetline Joanna is Vice-President of Development & Support for the Central & Western Divisions and was a continued source of help and guidance from the planning stages to the last day of our Tour.
Ernest and Patricia Hart 1956 Ford Crown Victoria Ernie got a little added bonus on Saturday, one of eight members of our Tour group to receive an award at the Car Show.
Robert and Renee Grutza 1957 Cadillac Convertible What a great looking Cadillac!! Which won an award at the Saturday Car Show!!
Gene and Marilyn Roy 1977 Chevrolet Coupe Gene and Marilyn really enjoyed the times spent in the Hospitality Room. Their Monte Carlo was a great addition to our Tour and won a Silver Plate at the Car Show. After our Tour they went on to the Glidden Tour and then on to Hershey. We're pleased to be included in their AACA Tour schedule.
Le Roy and Carol Smaglick 1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Lee and Carol took advantage of our small group to get to know just about everyone on the Tour. The Hospitality Room at the end of the day was a perfect place to socialize.
James and Barbara Rubenstein 1957 Lincoln Premier Convertible Jim and Barbara's good looking '57 Lincoln Convertible couldn't make the Tour but we're glad they were able to add to the Tour driving their Corvette. Jim was President of North Shore Chapter of Illinois Region for years and hasn't missed an Illinois Region Spring or Fall Tour that I can remember. They enjoy Touring, we're happy they could make this one.
Malcolm and Nancy Creighton 1962 Cadillac Convertible Malcolm and Nancy were one half of the Wisconsin Region "contingent" that drove a Cadillac. My favorite color, and a convertible too! A very nice car as you can see in some of the pictures. The Creighton's Toured most of the summer but called early on to make sure they could make our Tour.
Rick Shaw and Terry Voga 1924 Ford Model T Coupe The Illinois Region's Fall Tour two years ago was in Springfield and was planned by Rick and Terry with the Central Divisional Tour in mind. Every thing fit together nicely and everyone had a great time on the Tour except Terry got sick at the last minute and couldn't make the Tour. So we're very happy that this year Rick and Terry are here to finally enjoy the Tour that they worked so hard on together. Rick has been President of the Silver Springs Chapter for the past three years and has always gone out of his way to help the Illinois Region. Washing dishes in the Hospitality Room, what more can you ask.
Daniel Helgren 1972 Triumph Roadster Dan hasn't missed a Tour in years. He is the Secretary of the Illinois Region Board and is always helping out on a North Shore or Waukegan Chapter event. On this website go to "Waukegan Events" and scroll to Davidson's Picnic and you'll see two events that Dan planned. He's also got a Model T he's working on.
Frank and Ann Huntington 1941 Cadillac 60 Special Even recent surgery couldn't keep the Huntington's away from this Tour. Ann has rebounded remarkably fast and looks almost as good as that '41 Special!! They have been on many Illinois Region Tours over the years and we appreciate their contribution to our Central Divisional Tour.
John O'Halloran and Robert Reinhold 1964 Dodge Sedan
William and Joanna Vroman 1953 Chrysler Convertible
Jack and Marilyn Tallman 1930 Cadillac V-16 Fleetwood Roadster Model 452
