Spring Run
Members of Harford Region traveled to Delaware
for the 2008 Spring Run. destinations included the 10th annual
Antique Truck Club of America (ATCA) show in Delaware City, Fort
Delaware on Pea Patch Island, Historic New Castle and more. See

2008
Icicle Run
Harford Region held its annual Icicle Run on
March 29. The route traveled through northern Maryland into
Pennsylvania and across the Susquehanna River. The route
then followed along the Piquea Creek and across the Baumgarder's Mill
Covered Bridge on the way to the Lancaster County Winery.
Afterwards, the group traveled to Willow Valley Resort near Willow
Street for lunch. Some of the group continued on to the Sight and
Sound Millennium Theater near Strasburg for a presentation of "Daniel
and the Lion Den" while other continued on towards their own
destinations.

Harford Region Officers Inducted
Harford Region held its Annual Dinner on
November 11, 2007 at the Bayou Restaurant in Havre de Grace, Maryland.
The evening included a buffet dinner and entertainment, followed by the
induction of the Region officers as follows: President - Al Burns, Vice
President - Fred Brandon, Secretary - Kathleen Smith, and Treasurer -
Vicki Thacker. The club's Harold Clemens Award for 2007 was
presented to Al Burns.
Harford Region
Winners at Fall Hershey
Several Harford Region members were winners during
the Eastern Division National Fall Meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania held
during October 11-13, 2007. Congratulations to Kathy and Jerry
Scarborough who received a 2nd Junior award, James and Elke Martin for
receiving a Repeat Preservation Award, and Dave and Jane English for
receiving
a Historic Preservation Award of Original features (HPOF) and a Repeat
Historic Preservation Award.

Visits Jacob's Well
Harford Region was invited to hold a small car
show for the residents of Jacobs Well Assisted Living Facility on
September 29. The afternoon consisted of a car show, a fashion
show for the residents, music, dancing, and the fellowship with

Harford Region Monthly
Meeting Date Change for June
Due to the unavailability of our regular meeting
location on June 26, Harford Region's June meeting will be held a week
earlier on June 19 at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church (regular meeting
location). Please note that June 19 is a week earlier than usual
and is NOT the last Tuesday of the month when meetings are normally
held.
Harford Region Participated in Local Cub Scout Day
Harford Region displayed their antique cars at
the Cub Scout Day held on April 22. In addition, the region held a
youth activity to teach the importance of maintaining proper air
pressure in an automobile's tires. Read more and see photos from

Harford Region Webmaster
Receives National "Sparkplug Award" for Web Site
Harford Region Webmaster Bruce Wheeler was honored by being selected to
receive the "Sparkplug Award". The Sparkplug Award is an
AACA National Award that is "awarded
to the webmaster of a region or chapter internet website for their
contribution to the general welfare and spirit of the AACA".
Bruce received an engraved silver tray to commemorate the award.
The actual award is displayed with the other National Awards at the AACA
National Headquarters in Hershey, Pennsylvania. A photo of

Harford Region Receive
Awards at the 2007 AACA Annual Meeting
Harford Region's newsletter the
Harford Horn and Harford Region's web site both won an "Award of
Excellence" for 2006 from the AACA Publications and Internet committees,
respectively. These certificates are given out at the Region
President's Dinner on Friday night of the Annual Meeting.
Harford Region's webmaster Bruce Wheeler was one of 18 AACA Region and
Chapter webmasters also selected to receive a Master Webmaster Award at
the National Awards Banquet on Saturday night.
2006 Christmas Parades
Harford Region participated in the
annual Christmas parade held in Aberdeen, Maryland on December 2 and in
Bel Air, Maryland on December 3. Photos from the parades can be

2006 Annual Dinner
Harford Region celebrated another
great year of 2006 and prepared for the coming year at its Annual Dinner
held on November 12. Harford region member Judy Burns was
awarded the Harold Clemens Award for her outstanding work and dedication

2006 Fall Run
Harford Region spent three fun
filled days on Virginia's Northern Neck for its annual Fall Run during
September 8-10. The tour included visits to many historical places
and lodging at on the grounds of historic Stratford Hall. Details

2006 Rockspring Village Open House
Harford
Region provided cars for display on June 11 during the annual open house
of the Rockspring Village Retirement home near Forest Hill, Maryland.
Cars on display included a 1921 Ford touring, 1928 REO coupe, 1931 Ford
Deluxe Tudor, 1941 Plymouth, 1941 Buick convertible, 1949 Plymouth
Special Deluxe, 1951 Studebaker four door sedan, 1955 Ford Sunliner,
1956 Ford Victoria, 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, and a 1963 Chevrolet Chevy
II. Participating in the open house is an annual event for Harford

2006 Gemini Goodyear Show
Harford
Region held its annual antique vehicle display at the Gemini Goodyear
store near Bel Air, Maryland on May 13. A total of 25 antique
vehicles were on display. The club also had hot dogs and other
food for sale for the spectators. This year, a local Cub Scout
troop held a car wash in conjunction with the antique car display.

2006 April Weekday
Lunch Outing
Harford
Region members participated in a weekday lunch outing hosted by region
members Connie and Doug Harrell. It was a beautiful day and
everyone drove their antique cars for an afternoon of fun and

2006 Icicle Run
Harford
Region members participated in the Icicle Run on March 18. the
tour traveled through Harford and Cecil Counties with a impromptu parade
through the Perry Point Veterans Hospital, and stops at a post card
shop, Furnace Bay Golf Course Club House for snacks, Days Basket Factory
, and antiquing in the town of North East, all culminating with a group
lunch at Woodies Restaurant. |
