SENTIMENTAL TOUR
Burlington, NC
June 1-6 |

The 2008 AACA Sentimental Tour, for
vehicles 1928-1958, will be held in central North Carolina and hosted
jointly by the Alamance Region and the North Carolina Region. This will
be a hub tour based in Burlington, NC with the host hotel convenient to
I-85 and I-40 and plenty of trailer parking. We will travel about 100
miles per day at speeds of 45 MPH or less and travel only on secondary
roads.
A few of the places to be visited are the
Virginia International Raceway, Historic Yanceyville, The Duke Homestead
and Tobacco Museum, Bennet Place (end of the Civil War), two private car
collections, the Richard Petty complex, Alamance Battleground, Chinqua-Penn
Plantation, Replacements Ltd (find that missing piece of china) and a
number of other interesting places.

"WESTERN
DAKOTA HISTORY TOUR"
Hosted by the Magic City Antique Car Club
Region, this tour is for vehicles that are 25 yrs. and older. Vehicle
should be able to travel 55-60 miles per hr. We will provide a catch
trailer in case of vehicle problems. It is a traveling tour. Come with
us and discover some of the places that the great men of the Wild West
discovered and helped tame. Walk places where Lewis and Clark wintered
in 1804 on their expedition. See Fort Abraham Lincoln from which Custer
left on his ill-fated Indian battle. See the hills and prairie where
Chief Theodore Roosevelt once lived and ranched. Highlighted meals are a
riverboat supper cruise and a pitchfork steak fondue. We will attend the
spectacular Medora Musical and tour the North and South Units of the
Theodore Roosevelt National Park and other scenic areas. |
EASTERN DIVISIONAL TOUR
The Berkshires
August 4-7

This tour will be hosted by the
Connecticut Valley Region.
We are working hard to make sure you have
a great tour. So plan now to come to the beautiful Western
Massachusetts.
Here are the highlights of our tour that
you do not want to miss. Historic Mohawk Trail and Shelburne Falls. The
Stockbridge and Norman Rockwell Museum, North Adams and the Heritage
Museum featuring the Hoosac Tunnel Sharer Village, the "Wed on Wheels"
event in downtown Pittsfield on Main Street and the Tanglewood on Parade
Concert. We will be touring the Beautiful Berkshires.

GLIDDEN TOURŪ

LaCrosse, WI area
Sept. 7-12

This tour is for 1942 vehicles and
earlier. There will be an EARLY-BIRD tour on Sunday September 7th. You
will have your choice: Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe; Grandad Bluff;
St. Rose Convent and Nixon House.
Monday will be touring La Crosse.
Following the Mississippi River into Winona, MN., Visit the Elmer's Toy
and Auto Collection
Tuesday: Today you will see beautiful
rural vistas with some insight concerning the influence. the great
Mississippi has had on the region. You will visit a Mississippi lock and
dam; Effigy Mounds National Monument and Villa Louis.
Wednesday: "Heritage bay" we will be
traveling 175 miles. Driving through 5E MN and NE IA, along river
valleys and atop ridges with great views. We will sample Norwegian
baking, then to a Czech village; a woodcarving and clock building hobby.
Visit the oldest Czech Catholic Church in the United States, built in
1860.
Thursday: You will be driving through the
scenic coulee region on the way to cranberry country; a tour of the
cranberry marsh and packaging plant. A visit to the Little Falls
Railroad and Doll Museum and the Wegner Grotto.
Friday: This will be the shortest day. We
will visit an auto collection and tour the manufacturing plant of
Skipperliner Houseboats. There will be a cruise on the Mississippi with
entertainment with some fine banjo music. |
RELIABILITY TOUR
Chattanooga, TN

The Buzzards Breath Touring Region will
host the Reliability Tour for vehicles 1915 or earlier.
There will be an opening breakfast and a
tour to the carousel shop and a local tour.
Tuesday will tour to the Cloudland Canyon
Park.
Wednesday tour to the Southern Railway
Working Museum and Coker Tire collection and a few surprises.
Thursday tour to Chickamauga Battlefield
Park
Friday tour to Lookout Mountain and
closing dinner on the Southern Belle Paddle wheeler. |

FOUNDERS TOUR
South Carolina

"UPSTATE'S GREAT
IN 2008"
Arrangements are being made for an
EXCEPTIONAL tour of the South Carolina Upstate in 2008. The planning of
this tour is WELL on its way to be complete but is subject to change as
necessary to accommodate the intended tour locations.
We will center our tour in Easley, SC,
which is located about 10 miles west of Greenville, SC. Easy access to
interstate 85.
Sunday night there will be a casual
Welcoming meal for the start of the festivities.
Monday thru Thursday we will be touring
the scenic back roads of the upstate with destinations to include: The
BMW/Zentrum Center where we will be afforded a tour of the museum and
possibly a tour or a movie of the production plant. We will also be
touring to Historic Plantations, Corn Mill, Antique Museum, with rare
automobiles and other stops of interest.
Closing Banquet of Thursday evening will
be at Smithfields Country Club. Come and join us. |
